- Once you have located and selected your image, the Image Description window will pop up. The description you enter is also known as the ALT text. Tools that read web pages to people with visual disabilities read the text you enter here.
- Once you click OK, the image will be placed on the page.
- You can change any information about your image by right clicking on it and selecting from the options the drop-down list gives you.
- You can access the Images Properties by either right-clicking on the image and selecting Image Properties from the drop-down list, or you can double-click on the image. The Image Properties window will pop up.
- Within the Images Properties, you can change or alter:
- Image File - you can browse your computer for a new image location
- Width and Height - it is best to change the size of the image using an image editing application; if you do change the image within the Image Properties, the "Reset Display Size" button will reset the image to the original dimensions
- Horizontal or Vertical padding - this padding is the white space the surrounds the image; good for keeping text from pressing right up against the image

Image Size
It is always best to modify the size of an image within an image editing application, such as Adobe Photoshop, Windows Picture Editor, etc.
Due to specifics within the Mary Washington webpage template, there are restrictions on the size or resolution of your image.
