Anna Barron Billingsley
Director of Publications and Design

Anna B. Billingsley began her journalism career in 1980 and spent more than 20 years as a daily newspaper and magazine writer and editor. After earning a bachelor's degree in English from the College of William & Mary and a master's degree in journalism and public affairs from American University, Billingsley served as a reporter and editor at The Ledger-Star in Norfolk and the Richmond News Leader/Richmond Times-Dispatch. Before coming to Mary Washington in April 2004, she served as editor of the alumni magazine at the University of Richmond. Billingsley also taught journalism at Mary Washington and UR.

Kathleen S. Sheridan
Managing Editor University of Mary Washington Magazine

Kathleen Sheridan has spent a total of 30 years as an editor in the newspaper and book publishing industries. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a major in journalism, and has a master's degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. She joined UMW's Office of University Publications in June 2007.

Neva S. Trenis
Director of Editorial Services

Neva S. Trenis worked as a reporter at The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg in the late 1990s while she studied writing and communications at Mary Washington. After graduating in 2000, she served as editor of Weekender, the Free Lance-Star's weekly entertainment magazine. The recipient of awards from the Virginia Press Association and the National Federation of Press Women, Trenis joined the Office of University Publications in July 2004.

Melina K. Downs

CGPS Publications Coordinator

Melina Downs began her journalism career in 2004 as a student at Mary Washington College where she wrote articles for the student newspaper, The Bullet. After receiving her bachelor of arts degree in English from UMW in 2005, she worked for the U.S. Army as a writer in the Public Affairs Office at Fort Belvoir, Va. She joined the Office of University Publications in January 2008, and she serves as publications coordinator for the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at 121 University Blvd. in Stafford County, Va.
