NEW UMW TENNIS CENTER TO HOST OPEN HOUSE, SEPT. 24
Fredericksburg, Va. – The University of Mary Washington’s new Tennis Center will host an open house on Saturday, September 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public without charge.
The event schedule includes all-day open play and clinics for 9 to 12-year-olds at 10 a.m., 13 to 17-year-olds at 11 a.m. and adults at 1 p.m. In addition, a UMW Student/Faculty Doubles Fun Tournament will take place at 4 p.m. with matches for the “Campus Queen of the Court,” “Campus King of the Court” and “Co-ed Champion of the Court,” and grand prizes will be drawn at 5:30 p.m.
Constructed this summer, the six-court, $4.2 million University Tennis Center is located next to the award-winning 12-court outdoor tennis facility at the Battleground Athletic Complex. The site will be the host for the 2006 NCAA Division III National Championships.
Tennis Center hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information on court rates, membership fees or individual and group lessons, contact the University Tennis Center at (540) 654-2482.
