UMW TRAINED VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST TAX PREPARATION FOR ELDERLY AND LOW INCOME
Fredericksburg, Va. – Volunteers trained at the University of Mary Washington to help with tax form preparation will be available to assist elderly residents, people with disabilities and individuals eligible for the earned income tax credit in the Fredericksburg region. The free tax preparation session will be held at the University of Mary Washington on Saturdays, February 11 and March 11 from 9:30 a.m. until noon in Chandler Hall, Room 308.
No pre-registration is necessary but persons wishing to receive assistance must bring two forms of identification. One must be photo identification such as a passport, national identity card, driver’s license (U.S.), state identification card, military identification card, school photo identification, or a visa. The second form of identification must be the original or a copy of a social security card, ITIN card or letter as applicable. They also should bring with them their 2005 W-2s and 1099s, a copy of their 2004 tax return, the 2005 forms and their records for deductions.
