UMW Fall 2021/Spring 2022 Recruiting Options
Post a Job or Internship: Handshake is UMW’s official job and internship database. Handshake allows you the opportunity to create an employer profile, post part-time and full-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities, view student and alumni resumes, post events, and message our students. Host a Virtual Recruiting Event: Virtual events are an impactful way for employers to connect with students. It allows students to ask live questions and interact with employers in their field of interest. Employers must use their own virtual platform to host the event, but our office can help coordinate and market. Learn more about virtual recruiting events.
Present to a Class or Student Group about your Organization: Speaking to classes and student groups is a great way to educate students about your organization and the many available opportunities. Your organization’s name and information can be added to a list of employer contacts for faculty members to choose from for virtual or in-person class presentations. (Note: The need for employer speakers is dependent upon the willingness of faculty and/or student groups to allow guest speakers in their classrooms.) Host Informational Interviews: Many faculty members are interested in connecting their students with employers for informational interviews. Informational interviews give you the opportunity to speak to students about your organization and gives students the opportunity to explore their area of interest. Create a Video about your Organization: The pandemic showed us that students love quick and informative videos! Create a brief video about your organization and we will feature it on our Youtube page and send it to relevant faculty and classes. Connect with Students Online: Joining our social media accounts is a great way to reach out to students.
