The Center for Career &amp; Professional Development is dedicated to providing as much support as possible, and has moved to all virtual services. Below is information for students, employers, and faculty on services from CCPD. We will be updating our social media feeds (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UMWCCPD\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/umw_ccpd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\"> Instagram<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UMW_CCPD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\"> Twitter<\/a>) during this time and you can always feel free to contact us via email at <a href=\"mailto:ccpd@umw.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">ccpd@umw.edu<\/a>.<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Students<\/b><\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>During this very hectic time, it is important to take care of yourself physical and mentally. Communication is a very important part of that process. Stay in contact with your faculty, your employer(s), the career center, other UMW community members, family, and friends. <\/b><\/p><ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst\"><b>The Career Center is open and ready to help! We are ready to answer questions about your internships, job search, resume reviews, etc.!<\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\">One-on-one appointments with a Career Coach can be scheduled via Handshake. Appointments can be done online or phone via Zoom or Email. Please choose your preferred method when making an appointment.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\">If you would like an email resume or cover letter review, email your documents to <a href=\"mailto:ccpd@umw.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\"> ccpd@umw.edu<\/a>. You will receive a review within two business days.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\">If you are currently enrolled in an IDIS course, please contact your instructor for guidance on the remainder of the semester.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\">If you have any other questions related to the Career Center, please email <a href=\"mailto:ccpd@umw.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\"> ccpd@umw.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Internships<\/b><\/p><ul>\n<li>Face-to-face internships (for which remote work or an alternate modality is not possible) should follow the same schedule outlined in the university&rsquo;s operational timetable which means that <u>on-site hours are suspended through the end of the semester.<br>\n<\/u><\/li>\n<li>Students enrolled in for-credit internships should connect with their faculty sponsor to review the number of internship hours completed and discuss alternate means of completing the internship. Depending on the number of hours worked, the student and faculty member could decide that the internships commitment relative to the credit received has been met and\/or could be met with an appropriate academic component.<\/li>\n<li>The Center for Career and Professional Development is ready and prepared to support these conversations.
