Any transaction to the FAFSA can trigger a verification.<\/p><p>The federal government requires colleges and universities to verify or confirm the information on a student&rsquo;s FAFSA. This process ensures that students receive all the financial aid to which they are eligible and prevents students that are not eligible from receiving financial aid.<\/p><p>Students selected for verification are required to complete a verification form, along with other types of requested documentation. There are several different types of verification (V1, V4, V5). Each verification type has different requirements based on students&rsquo; unique situations. Students are only selected for one type of Verification  and therefore only need to complete one corresponding Verification Worksheet.<\/p><p>Verification documents can be completed on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umw.edu\/financialaid\/process\/forms\/\">forms page<\/a>.<\/p><p>All parents and <em>independent<\/em> students will be required by federal regulation to submit all W2&rsquo;s or other wage statements.
