Barnum\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/45086584?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"1100\" height=\"619\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Contrary to legend, he never said, \u201cThere\u2019s a sucker born every minute.\u201d Phineas Taylor Barnum was a businessman, hoaxer, and impresario who provided entertainment to a nation hungry for it. \u201cI am a showman by profession . . . and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me,&#8221; Barnum wrote defiantly in his autobiography.
