\u00a0For April\u2019s Coffee Talk<\/strong>, Dr. Janet Gullickson<\/strong> discussed what emotional fatigue looks and feels like, why it\u2019s common now, and what we can do about it. We are in charge of our limits and explored ways to use our own consciousness to master our minds.

May\u2019s Coffee Talk, led by Alicia Turner, CEO & President at North Compass Solutions LLC, will be an intriguing session on \u201cAffirming Workplace Relationships.\u201d

Affirming Others. Strengthening Ourselves. Working Better Together.

Strong working relationships are at the heart of every successful team\u2014but they don\u2019t happen by accident. In this engaging and interactive session, participants will explore what it truly means to create affirming working relationships and how those relationships directly impact communication, performance, and workplace culture.

This session goes beyond theory to provide practical tools that can be applied immediately.

Participants will:

– Understand what affirming working relationships are\u2014and why they matter
– Identify whether their current workplace relationships are supportive or strained
– Learn simple, powerful strategies rooted in care, curiosity, and communication
– Gain tools to strengthen relationships with colleagues, leaders, and teams
– Explore how to affirm themselves at work\u2014even in challenging environments

This session is designed to be highly interactive, relatable, and actionable\u2014giving attendees space to reflect, engage, and leave with clear next steps they can implement right away.

Whether you are leading a team or contributing as an individual, this experience will help you show up more intentionally, communicate more effectively, and build stronger, more affirming connections at work.

2026 Coffee Talks:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

January 13th – led by Latasha Brooks, Leader and Dedicated Business Consultant, we had a thoughtful discussion on \u201cAffirming an Inspired Mindset.\u201d We discussed the stories we tell ourselves, the moments that challenge our confidence, and the intentional shifts that help us show up with purpose \u2014 for our work, our communities, and ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

February 10th – led by Barbara Gustavson, Founder of Discover Next Step, we had an uplifting session on “Affirming a Positive Year.” We explored what quietly drains you, what truly restores you, and how your brain shapes both. Participants left with clarity and a tangible plan to regroup your days, so they work with you instead of against you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 10th – led by Nancy Tilley, NCCAOM-Certified Professional Acupuncturist, we explored ways to improve vitality and overall well-being to look and feel your best while enjoying the process along the way. In addition to acupuncture, Nancy provides cupping, Gua Sha, electroacupuncture, and other traditional modalities of Chinese medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
