Nearly 1,000 friends and family of current students will converge on the Fredericksburg campus beginning today, Friday, Sept. 16, for the University of Mary Washington’s Family Weekend 2016. Family Weekend, now in its 43rd year, welcomes the families of students to UMW to showcase campus life, academics and the Fredericksburg community.
The event, which extends through Sunday, Sept. 18, features more than 25 events, including open class sessions, the second annual Eagle Club Golf Tournament, a UMW study abroad fair, a cookout and family fun fair, and a tour of Brompton, the historic home of President Troy Paino and his wife, Kelly Paino.
Pre-registration check-in and on-site registration is available Saturday on Ball Circle from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the University Center identified as building No. 54 on the campus map. Parking is open in all lots on Saturday and Sunday.
