Gregory Chambers ’84<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Virginia Governor\u2019s Office announced in June the appointment of a new member of the University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors and renewed the terms of two current members.<\/p>\n

A Mary Washington alumnus, Gregory Chambers \u201984, executive director of CRA Research LLC, in Fredericksburg, will join the board. In addition, the Governor\u2019s Office renewed the terms of UMW alumnae Rachel Greszler \u201903, a senior research fellow in The Heritage Foundation\u2019s Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies, and Terrie Suit, MBA \u201916, retired CEO of Virginia Realtors.<\/p>\n

In his lead role with CRA Research, Chambers supports local businesses and organizations with systems engineering and project management. He has more than 40 years of leadership and management in the defense and aerospace industry, in both the federal government and private sector, with expertise in prototype design, development, training and systems deployment to military forces.<\/p>\n

Formerly, Chambers served as chief engineer and deputy program manager for Intelligence Systems at the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, Virginia. There, he received the Commander\u2019s Excellence in Engineering Award and the U.S. Marine Corps\u2019 Meritorious Civilian Service Award for leading the team that performed rapid development and fielding equipment to the operating forces. Chambers served previously as a lead project engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, designing environmental systems, guided projectile prototypes and Nuclear, Biological and Chemical prototype detectors. He also spent six years as a combat engineer in the Virginia Army National Guard.<\/p>\n

Chambers serves as president of the Central Virginia chapter of the International Council of Systems\u00a0Engineers, which supports STEM in local schools and universities. He was a longtime member of the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance, STEM 16 Steering Committee, promoting STEM learning in area schools. And he served as a visiting research scientist at the University of Virginia\u2019s School of Engineering and Applied Science, where he recommended research topics based on Department of Defense requirements.<\/p>\n

Chambers earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science from Mary Washington, a master\u2019s degree in business administration from Averett University and a doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He holds multiple certificates from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, along with a certificate in corporate governance from the Wharton School, and he is a certified Program Management Professional (PMP).<\/p>\n

Rachel Greszler ’03<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Rachel Greszler \u201903 is a senior research fellow in the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation, where she focuses on workforce, family and retirement policies that promote economic growth, individual freedom and well-being. She also serves as a visiting fellow in workforce at the Economic Policy Innovation Center. Prior to her role with The Heritage Foundation, she served seven years as a senior economist for the Joint Economic Committee of the Congress.<\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in economics from the University of Mary Washington, and master\u2019s degrees in both economics and public policy from Georgetown University. This is Greszler\u2019s second appointment to the UMW Board of Visitors, after first fulfilling a seat vacated mid-term.<\/p>\n

Terrie Suit, MBA ’16<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Terrie L. Suit, MBA \u201916, served nearly a decade in the Virginia House of Delegates before being appointed as the Commonwealth\u2019s first Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Earlier in her career, she spent more than 20 years in mortgage lending after becoming a licensed real estate agent in 1985. Most recently, she served for over a decade as CEO of a statewide real estate trade association, where she brought executive leadership to the intersection of public policy and industry.<\/p>\n

Suit earned an associate degree in general education from Tidewater Community College and a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from Old Dominion University. She later received an MBA from the University of Mary Washington, where she delivered the graduate address at the university\u2019s 108th Commencement. Suit has served a partial term on the board prior to this reappointment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
