As Money notes, there&rsquo;s no single &ldquo;best&rdquo; college for every student, but the star ratings are designed to help families compare schools on value, discover standout options and build a college list that fits their budget.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UMW moved up to four stars this year, earning high marks for estimated price, as one of the most affordable among the Virginia schools on the list, with 99% of undergraduates earning grants, and a low median student debt of $20,500.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Money&rsquo;s analysis draws primarily on federal higher education data, including the U.S. Department of Education&rsquo;s College Scorecard, along with the outlet&rsquo;s own calculations of affordability, graduation rates and alumni outcomes. In that way, it provides an indication of how a college affects graduates&rsquo; outcomes.
