The Virginia Governor’s Office has announced that Randall R. Eley, Martha Kearns Leighty and Patricia B. Revere have been reappointed to the University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors for a second four-year term.<\/p>
Eley is president and chief investment officer of The Edgar Lomax Company and a member of the New York Stock Exchange’s Individual Investors Advisory Committee. He founded The Edgar Lomax Company, named for his maternal grandfather, in 1986. Since then, he has transformed his original pool of $122,000 gathered from family and friends, into a renowned investment firm which currently manages $1.1 billion. Eley is a two-time winner of The Wall Street Journal’s “dartboard” stock picking contest and has made repeat appearances on CNN, the “Nightly Business Report” and CNBC. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School.<\/p>
Leighty is a 1975 graduate of the University of Mary Washington and also holds a master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She currently serves on the English Department faculty at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, where she has worked since 1988. She previously taught secondary English in the Chesterfield County and Caroline County public school systems. She has served on the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia State Committee on Transfer, the Virginia Commonwealth University STEP Committee to improve teacher education, and as a coordinator for the Parapro Test for English and Reading. In addition, Leighty previously served as a member of the board of the Two-Year College English Association, program chair of the Virginia Community College English Peer Group Conference, and a member of the board of Reading Education for Adult Development.<\/p>
Revere is a member of the University of Mary Washington class of 1963 and also holds a master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She formerly served as president of the Mary Washington Alumni Association Board of Directors and as a member of the Real Estate Foundation Board of Directors. She has received the “Frances Liebenow Armstrong Service Award” for outstanding service to the university and Alumni Association. She also is involved in groups within her community, serving on the Chesterfield County Health Center Commission and as chairman of Chesterfield Colonial Heights Christmas Mother, Inc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
