The Virginia Governor’s Office today announced the appointment of Joseph W. Grzeika, Dorcas R. Hardy and B. Judson Honaker to the Board of Visitors at the University of Mary Washington. The new board members will serve four-year terms, which expire June 30, 2015. They succeed Princess R. Moss, Russell H. Roberts and Nanalou W. Sauder, whose terms ended on June 30.<\/p>
Joseph Grzeika<\/strong><\/p> Joseph Grzeika, who lives in King George County, is a business consultant with Arlington-based Strategic Insight and is president of Joetech LLC of King George. A former electronic warfare specialist for the Navy, he has been president of Planning Consultants Inc., a project manager for Syscon Corp. and branch manager for Comptek Research Inc. <\/p> A member of the King George Board of Supervisors, Grzeika is on the board of directors for Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s military affairs council, the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance and the Rappahannock United Way. He also is a member of the Rappahannock River Basin Commission and the George Washington Regional Commission and has served on the Rappahannock Regional Jail Authority, the Rappahannock Economic Development Corp. and the King George County Planning Commission. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington in 1983.<\/p> Dorcas R. Hardy<\/strong><\/p> Dorcas R. Hardy, who lives in Spotsylvania County, is head of DRHardy & Associates, a government relations and policy firm. She has served in a number of state and federal positions, including assistant secretary of Human Development Services for the Department of Health and Human Services. As Commissioner of Social Security, she was chief executive officer of the national social insurance programs.<\/p> Hardy has launched and hosted the weekly television program “Financing Your Future” on Financial News Network and UPI Broadcasting, and has hosted “The Senior American,” a political magazine show for older Americans. She also speaks and writes about domestic and international retirement and financing issues and entitlement program reforms. In addition, Hardy is chairman and chief executive officer of Work Recovery Inc., a rehabilitation technology firm in Tucson, Ariz., and has served on the board of directors for First Coast Service Options Inc., the Medicare contractor of Florida Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She has an MBA from Pepperdine University, a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and has completed the executive program in health policy and financial management at Harvard University. <\/p> B. Judson Honaker<\/strong><\/p> Jud Honaker, who lives in Fredericksburg, is president of the commercial division of Silver Companies, a real estate development company based in Fredericksburg, where he has worked for 20 years in various capacities throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area, including sales, leasing, construction, engineering and property management. He currently oversees various commercial projects including major corporate centers in Quantico and Celebrate Virginia, a retail entertainment resort under development in Fredericksburg. <\/p> Honaker is a past chairman of the Rappahannock United Way, the Fredericksburg area Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Fredericksburg Museum, and he has served on the City Industrial Development Authority.
