The University of Mary Washington’s Board of Visitors named the Honorable Pamela J. White as rector of the 12-member board. White will succeed Daniel K. Steen to the position. The board also named Holly T. Cuellar as vice rector and Xavier R. Richardson as secretary.<\/p>

The Honorable Pamela J. White<\/figcaption><\/figure>

White, Cuellar and Richardson will serve two-year terms from 2012 to 2014.  The action was taken during the board’s annual retreat.<\/p>

White, a 1974 alumna, is a trial judge on the Circuit Court bench in Baltimore City, Md. Cuellar, a 1989 alumna, is a political consultant who served in the Office of the Virginia Attorney General. Richardson is executive vice president of Corporate Development and Community Affairs for Mary Washington Healthcare and president of Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford foundations.<\/p>

In other action, the board unanimously extended President Richard V. Hurley’s contract through June 30, 2015. Hurley, the university’s ninth president, assumed the presidency on July 1, 2010.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
