Lorrina J. Eastman, senior vice president and leadership development executive of Bank of America, has been named as the “Graduate-in-Residence” for the University of Mary Washington’s Department of Psychology.<\/p>
Dr. Eastman, who lives in Charlotte, N.C., will be on campus Wednesday, September 19, and Thursday, September 20. <\/span>She will conduct informal talks with faculty and students, give guest lectures in some psychology classes and conduct a career forum for students. <\/p> She also will give a lecture, titled “Leadership Development: Identifying and Preparing the Next Generation of Leaders,” in the Red Room of the Woodard Campus Center on September 20 at 5 p.m. <\/span>The event is free and open to the public.<\/p> Dr. Eastman received a bachelor’s degree from UMW in 1989. <\/span>While at UMW, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and won the “Outstanding Senior in Psychology” award. Dr. Eastman also holds a master’s degree and doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Georgia.<\/p> In her position with Bank of America, Dr. Eastman is responsible for implementing procedures to develop and assess leadership among senior executives in all facets of the organization, including executive selection and succession planning. <\/span>In addition, Dr. Eastman has had extensive experience in developing and conducting employee opinion surveys and personality assessments.<\/p> Prior to joining Bank of America, Dr. Eastman was the director of Organizational Assessment and Development for InterContinental Hotels, which includes the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands.
