Brozo is the author of numerous articles and books on literacy development for children and young adults, including &ldquo;Content Literacy for Today&rsquo;s Adolescents.&rdquo;&nbsp; His research focuses on adolescent and content literacy, secondary literacy reform, struggling learners and closing the literacy achievement gap for boys. Brozo received a bachelor&rsquo;s degree from the University of North Carolina and a master&rsquo;s and doctorate from the University of South Carolina.<\/p><p>The day also included presentations from Richard Long, director of government relations at the International Reading Association, and Tracy Robertson, English coordinator in the Office of Standards, Curriculum and Instruction at the Virginia Department of Education.
