Free and open to the public, the lecture will take place in the North building of the Stafford campus at 6 p.m. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is essential to know how to work with Millennials, especially if you are from an earlier generation\u201d said Lynne Richardson, dean of the College of Business. \u201cYou need to understand what they value and how they like to work in order to advance your organization\u2019s initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With 18 years of experience in the training industry, Carey knows just how to connect with Millennials in the work place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMillennials thrive in a collaborative environment,\u201d said Carey, who graduated from UMW in 1996. \u201cThey are so comfortable with technology because it has always been a part of their life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carey has spent the past 12 years with ROI Training, based in New York City and Lexington, Mass., where he works one-on-one with several of the world\u2019s leading technology and financial firms. He also is a member of several global and national training organizations.<\/p>\n<p>At UMW, Carey is the chair of UMW\u2019s College of Business Advisory Board, a position that he has held since March 2013.
