Three photos in the current Belmont Portrayed: Through a Lens<\/em> exhibition at Gari Melchers Home and Studio have been recognized as winners of the “People’s Choice” vote.<\/p>

<\/p>

Since the show opened on March 18, gallery visitors have been asked to choose their favorite photo from the 21 on display, with almost 800 guests registering their vote.<\/p>

Jennifer Manfre of Fredericksburg won the first-place award of $500 for Spring at the Gazebo<\/em>, from 2014. Penny Parrish of Fredericksburg won the second-place award of $300 for Belmont Gate<\/em>, also taken in 2014. John Bice of Rhoadesville won the third-place award of $200 for Melchers’ Meditation.<\/em><\/p>

The exhibition will be on display through Sunday, May 21.<\/p>

The property, which is operated by the University of Mary Washington, is both a Virginia Historic Landmark and a National Historic Landmark.  Located at 224 Washington St. in Falmouth, across the Rappahannock River from Fredericksburg, the museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1-5 p.m.<\/p>
