Gifts from Parents Will Be Matched on Giving Day
Bob and Martha Barry, parents of Emily Barry ’14, are issuing a challenge to all Mary Washington parents on Giving Day: Make a gift to the Fund for Mary Washington, and the Barrys will match it dollar for dollar (up to $9,000 total).
As parents, this is your chance to double your impact when you support the Fund for Mary Washington on Giving Day. Your doubled gift will go to work immediately to benefit students, funding areas of critical need and creating unique opportunities.
We have set an ambitious goal for our second annual #MaryWashDay: 1,908 gifts in one day to honor UMW’s founding year. Together, we can make it the single largest day of fundraising in the University’s history, all to benefit Mary Washington students and programs. We can’t do it without you, our UMW family. Your participation, not the amount of your gift, matters most. Spread the word with #MaryWashDay, and mark your calendar to be part of the excitement on March 20, 2018.
Check out the participating groups–academic departments, UMW Athletics, UMW Theatre, and more– on givingday.umw.edu, and read the FAQs about the day. To support the University’s areas of greatest need, plan to make your gift to the Fund for Mary Washington. Don’t see the area you want to support? You will be able to choose “Other” and note your gift designation on the donation form.
Let’s show the world what Mary Wash can do in a day. Please contact umwgift@umw.edu with questions about Giving Day.
