The Office of Academic Services offers two free peer services to all undergraduate students. Our Peer Tutors are a supplemental resource to the classroom and provide subject specific assistance for students. We also offer tutoring for popular, introductory level courses.
Depending on the subject, we offer walk-in tutoring and appointment based tutoring options. Walk-in tutoring does not require an appointment and students are welcome to show up with their materials and stay for all or part of the time. Some subjects require schedule an appointment beforehand. Students may access our Fall 2019 schedule via the Academic Services website for more information.
Peer Academic Consultants (PACs) are student leaders who are passionate about helping peers develop the academic study skills necessary to become successful students. PACs offer study skills support to undergraduate students through one-on-one meetings. Common topics include time management and organization, note-taking & textbook reading techniques, along with developing study strategies for test preparation. We encourage students to schedule multiple appointments as creating effective study habits tends to be a developmental process. With final exams and assignments quickly approaching, it is never too late to take advantage of our peer services to help finish out with a strong semester!
It is important to note that Peer Tutors and Peer Academic Consultants are available through the last week of classes. There are no peer services offered during finals week.
