Here is some important information regarding your student\u2019s Financial Aid:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>2018-2019 FAFSA: <\/u><\/strong>The 2018-2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/fafsa.ed.gov\/\">FAFSA<\/a> will be available on October 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2017 at fafsa.ed.gov. It is recommended that students complete the FAFSA early to ensure they receive funding from all financial aid programs for which they are eligible. This can be completed by the student in the <a href=\"https:\/\/banner.umw.edu\/prod\/bwrkrhst.P_DispAwdAidYear\">MyUMW Eagle Gateway<\/a>. Students may select \u201cyes\u201d to receive emails or \u201cno\u201d to receive paper mail to their campus mailbox. Students must confirm this selection each year.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Title IV Authorization for Loan Recipients<\/u><\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Federal educational loans are for educational expenses such as tuition, required fees, and room and board. Students may complete the Title IV Authorization process through the <a href=\"https:\/\/banner.umw.edu\/prod\/twbkwbis.P_GenMenu?name=bmenu.P_MainMnu#pageName=bmenu--P_FAApplStuMnu___UID3&amp;pageReferrerId=bmenu--P_StuMainMnu___UID1&amp;pageDepth=3&amp;options=false\">MyUMW Eagle Gateway<\/a> to allow their loan funds to also be used for miscellaneous charges such as library fines, parking tickets, etc. The authorization must only be completed once and will remain active throughout the student\u2019s time at UMW.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Student Employment: <\/u><\/strong>There are approximately 700 student employment positions across campus. Students may apply through the <a href=\"https:\/\/orgsync.com\/129314\/chapter\">MyUMW Student Employment page<\/a>. Hiring occurs throughout the year. Students are encouraged to reach out to any department for which they are interested in applying, as they would make the actual hiring positions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Important Dates<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10\/1\/17 2018-2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/fafsa.ed.gov\/\">FAFSA<\/a> available<\/li>\n<li>2\/1\/18 2018-2019 UMW <a href=\"https:\/\/fafsa.ed.gov\/\">FAFSA<\/a> Deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Due to Federal privacy regulation (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umw.edu\/financialaid\/ferpa\/\"><em>FERPA<\/em><\/a><em>), the Office of Financial Aid is only permitted to speak to students, and individuals that they have designated a \u2018<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umw.edu\/financialaid\/general-information\/communication\/delegated-access\/\"><em>delegated user<\/em><\/a><em>.\u2019\u00a0 This allows Financial Aid Representatives to speak to the third party about financial aid requirements, and award status. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>If leaving a voicemail for the Financial Aid staff, please leave a clear, concise message including the student\u2019s name and student ID number.\u00a0 Please spell your last name.
