Timely Warning – August 1, 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

8:25 p.m. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALL CLEAR. <\/strong>The suspect is in custody without incident. Police search is complete, Friday, Aug. 1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UMW Police have issued the all clear for the search at the Battleground Athletic Complex on Aug. 1. The suspect is in custody without incident. No further action needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:15 p.m. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with the federal Clery Act, this notice is being sent as a timely warning from The University of Mary Washington Police Department:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fredericksburg Police Department has received information suggesting that a wanted individual may be located in the area of the Battleground Athletic Complex. The UMW Police will be assisting the Fredericksburg Police Department in the search, with an increased police presence this evening, Friday, August 1 around 7 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please stay clear of the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contact UMW police if you see anything suspicious. Please call 540-654-1025 or 540-654-4444 in an emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
