data-js-trigger=\"true\">Honors<\/button><div class=\"accordion__question__answer\">\n<p>To earn departmental honors in chemistry, you must have at least a 3.25 grade-point average in chemistry and 3.0 overall. You\u2019ll complete an independent research project, then write and defend a thesis. Students pursuing departmental honors enroll in Chemistry 491 for four credits in each semester of the senior year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"umw-collapsible-section umw-custom-block\"><div class=\"accordion__question\" data-js-question=\"true\"><button class=\"accordion__question__trigger\" data-js-trigger=\"true\">Requirements<\/button><div class=\"accordion__question__answer\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Major Requirements<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.umw.edu\/undergraduate\/majors\/chemistry\/#requirementstext\">Chemistry majors<\/a>&nbsp;must complete 39 credits, including 19 upper-level courses.
