As a political science major at the University of Mary Washington, you\u2019re positioned for politics \u2013 in Fredericksburg, halfway between the capital cities of Washington, D.C., and Richmond, Virginia. Students majoring in political science who complete all requirements earn the degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in political science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

UMW students have had internships<\/a> in many congressional and other governmental offices in Washington, D.C., Richmond, and Fredericksburg, and at such organizations as the World Bank, the American Enterprise Institute, Common Cause, ABC News, and Washington Monthly<\/em>. Students in this major have an internship placement rate of 100 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
