Let us walk you through the basics of Title IX as a federal law and how it applies to UMW and our community policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A History of Title IX and Prohibited Conduct Policies (30-50 min)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between the implementation of Title IX in 1972, when it was primarily used to ensure equal funding and other opportunities for collegiate sports, and the 2000s when it began to gain more attention as a tool for combatting gender-based violence, a lot has happened in the US surrounding gender equality and gender-based violence prevention and response. We will provide an introduction to the historical, social, and political contexts of laws meant to address gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsible Employees (30-50 min)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you\u2019re a responsible employee \u2013 now what?
