SACS Administration and Resources Committee 
Minutes-April 25, 2001

Reports of 3 subcommitties
FINANCE:  (Pearce, MacEwen, Stageberg)
  • Developed draft of research questions (to be refined Aug. 01)
  • Questions focused whether we have adequate processes and procedures in place to make reasonable resource decisions
  • Plan for Fall 2001 includes interviewing, using 4-5 questions protocol, Hall, Braymer, Hurley, and then others as necessary
  • May include questions on faculty and/or student survey(s) Fall 2001
  • EXTERNAL AGENCIES AND MODELS: (Preston, Campbell, Wiltenmuth)
    • Have compiled file of external agency requirements (SCHEV, etc.)
    • Identified 3 criteria for comparison of other colleges that have moved to universities
    • Early Fall 2001, will conclude review of comparative colleges and recommendations from this review
    ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION:  (May, Braxton, Barra, Abbott, Cole, Wyche)
    • Presented methods for data collection (Fall 2001)
    • Discussed assumptions (rather than specific org chart), as vehicle for discussions on new university org model
    • Will also gather info form External Agencies subcommittee, Fall 2001
    • Need to secure NEW org chart (included in Summer Memo 2001?)
