SACS-COC Self-Study Steering Committee Meeting
December 4, 2000
1) Committee Chair Reports: Each committee chair presented a brief summary of their committee's recent meeting.  The
consensus seemed to be that the committee's were really starting to come together and are doing some really interesting
work, raising interesting questions, and struggling with some tough questions.
2) SACS Conference:  Having just returned from the SACS Commision on Colleges annual meeting Larry presented          concerns raised by two presentation on the Alternative Self-study model.
3) A Summer Session:  We agreed that during the summer of 2002 a summer session for the steering committee would be
very valuable if not critical.  Larry is to explore making that possible.
4) An Editor: We agreed to move forward with getting an editor on-board.  Other schools have created style manuals to
facilitate writing of the reports.  Larry will work on getting release time built into the budget for the editor.
5) Revisions to the website: Meeting minutes are going on-line.  A page has been set up in the archives to link to committee minutes.
6) Action items: Get committee minutes to Larry.  Set up a briefing on JMC, and blackboard.  Have a great break.
