What would be the most effective administrative organizational structure for the new university? 
Some of the issues to be considered: 
  • At what organizational level(s) and in what areas will the university structure diverge? 
  • What functional areas should remain merged?
  • What impact would the proposed administrative organizational structure have on the current administrative structure, including:
    • academic affairs,
    • admissions, 
    • athletics, 
    • facilities management, 
    • financial aid, 
    • financial affairs, 
    • human resources, 
    • library, 
    • network and technology services,
    • student affairs? 
What administrative support will be required by all university constituents? 
Some of the issues to be considered: 
  • Staffing needs 
  • Technology/Information needs 
  • Space needs 
II. Resources
How are current and future resource requirements assessed (i.e., identified, prioritized, and evaluated)?
How will financial resources be allocated to meet the needs of the new university? 
III. Supports and Constraints
What supports or constraints are defined by external agencies (SACS, SCHEV, etc.) in the administration and resources area? 
IV. Best Analogs
 

What other schools have faced similar problems and what solutions did they come up with?

Which of these schools have developed excellent policies/solutions regarding potential problems in administration structure and resources?
V. Current Status
 
How do we know what the current "conditions" are regarding each of the above questions?
How can we predict what they will be in five years? Ten years?
