The implementation of WordPress in 2011 was, by all accounts, a phenomenal success. Moving away from Contribute ushered in an era of self-publishing in a much more open and user-friendly environment. It was not, however, without its issues.
The growth since that new site launched has been tremendous. Problematically so. The downtimes experienced throughout the fall of 2014 were just the outward signs of larger problems. To resolve these issues the site was migrated to more robust enterprise hosting. A completely new WordPress website
is in development just launched(!) that will address the systems and content problems while emphasizing cleaner, easier to use administrative interfaces, and a renewed focus on training and support for site administrators.
