UMW College of Education Hosts Educator-in-Residence Event

Princess Moss

The University of Mary Washington’s College of Education held its second annual Educator-in-Residence event on Wednesday, May 2 at the Stafford campus, featuring a lecture from 2012 Educator-in-Residence Princess Moss. Moss ’83, is a veteran educator with more than 20 years of instructional experience and is the current president of the National Education Association (NEA) Executive Committee. She served two terms as president of the Virginia Education Association (VEA) and more than 10 years on the VEA Board of Directors. Moss is an advocate on a wide variety of topics, including minority concerns, women’s issues, political action and school finance at the local and state levels. Moss was awarded UMW’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2006 and served as a member of the university’s Board of Visitors from 2007 to 2011.
