Learn more about our Guaranteed Admission and Concurrent Enrollment agreements with Germanna Community College.
Germanna Community College and the University of Mary Washington have established a transfer program between Germanna’s College Everywhere program (“College Everywhere”) and the University of Mary Washington’s College of Business designed to ensure that eligible students who have matriculated from College Everywhere can easily transition into a Business Administration bachelor’s degree pathway at Mary Washington. One of the primary features of the program is the accelerated nature of the College Everywhere program and online Business Administration courses offered by UMW. Students will be able to complete both an associate’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in approximately two and a half years.
Under this agreement, UMW guarantees acceptance into the business program for eligible students at Germanna who have:
- Earned an Associate in Arts and Science degree in Business Administration from the College Everywhere program by the end of the summer semester for fall admission or by the end of the fall semester for spring admission
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
- A minimum of 15 credits must be completed at the time of application
- Completed a Letter of Intent form with UMW by March 1 for Fall admission or September 1 for Spring admission
- Priority application deadlines: April 1 for Fall admission or October 15 for Spring admission
- Application deadlines for students wishing to take advantage of early advising and on-time registration are February 1 for Fall admission and September 15 for spring admission. A letter of Intent must accompany the application.
All applicants that apply by the preferred application filing dates are automatically considered for Transfer Merit Scholarships.
- Spring semester: October 15
- Summer semester: March 1
- Fall semester: April 1
If you’ve earned a high-school diploma, GED, or equivalent, you can apply to transfer to UMW from any two- or four-year school, no matter where you are in your college career. Check out our transfer agreements with various community colleges.
With an associate’s degree and a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, you may qualify for UMW’s Guaranteed Admissions Agreement with the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and Richard Bland College.
Each fall, we enroll approximately 300 students from the Virginia Community College System and other schools, both from inside and outside Virginia, into UMW’s bachelors of arts and sciences programs. The average GPA for admitted transfer students is 3.31.
Students can also choose a non-degree enrollment program, allowing non-degree-seeking students to take classes when space is available.
