Dear Dr. Ackermann,
I am editing an Encyclopedia of the Internet, an interdisciplinary, multivolume project for Sage Publications. I would like to invite you to write a short entry on the World Wide Web (an overview of its structure, design, functions, I’d leave specifics to you), roughly 4,000 words or so, which would be due January 1. If you agree, I’ll send you a formal invitation through the online system used by Sage.
Would you please let me know if you would interested in doing this, or if not, whom you might recommend as an alternative? Graduate students would be fine potential authors.
