On Saturday, June 14, the James Monroe Museum will join the largest group sing-along of the national anthem in history, as part of the National Museum of American History’s “Raise It Up! Anthem for America” celebration.

The University of Mary Washington will host “James Monroe: Life and Legacy,” a two-day symposium presented by The Papers of James Monroe and the James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library.
This summer, Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont and the James Monroe Memorial Museum and Library will offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families as part of a nationwide initiative.
The James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library received a $3,000 donation from the Paul Mesick Jones Trust, Walter Jervis Sheffield, Trustee, for “James Monroe: Life and Legacy,” a symposium to be held at the University of Mary Washington on October 18 and 19, 2013.
The James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library joined First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move! Museums and Gardens” initiative to fight against child obesity. The museum will offer drop-in yoga classes in its garden on Saturday mornings in May and June.
