The summer session is a great time for students to catch up, get ahead, or try something new.
Summer session registration is still open, and many courses still have space.
Each of UMW’s three colleges is offering a strong schedule of undergraduate and graduate courses. Over 140 course sections still have openings, and many are being offered in a fully online format.
The May/June summer session starts on May 22 and lasts five weeks. The June/July session starts on June 26. There are also courses that last either 10 weeks or 8 weeks; both of those terms also start on May 22.
Did you know . . .
. . . a student can retake a course in which earned a C- grade or lower and the grade in the repeated class replaces the original grade? That’s one great way for students to heal their grade point average and get back on track.
. . . many courses that will meet general education requirements, major requirements, and minor requirements are being offered this summer? That’s a great way for a student to lighten the course loads they will need to take next fall and spring and, who knows, maybe even graduate ahead of schedule.
. . . summer is a chance for a student to take a course they have wanted to try but couldn’t previously fit into their schedule? Taking a broader range of classes expands the student’s résumé and could make him or her more competitive in the job market.
