Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont will host its 31st Annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 14 from 10 to 5 p.m. The historic house and stone studio are open to the public without charge on this day.
The Open House will feature festive interior house displays and outdoor fresh decorations by Town and Country Garden Club.
In the Studio Pavilion the Spotsylvania Middle School Bulldog Quartet will perform at 1 p.m., the Fredericksburg Chamber Chorale will perform at 2:30 p.m. and the Fredericksburg Academy Upper School Chorus will perform at 4 p.m. The Museum Shop will offer shoppers a selection of “Vintage Christmas” items.
Gari Melchers Home and Studio is a 27-acre estate and former residence of the artist Gari Melchers and his wife Corinne. The property, which is operated by the University of Mary Washington, is both a Virginia Historic Landmark and a National Historic Landmark. Located at 224 Washington St. in Falmouth, Va., a quarter mile west of the intersection of U.S. 1 and U.S. 17, it is open daily with an admission charge. The museum also serves as the official Stafford County Visitor Center.
