Martin A. Wilder Jr., dean of enrollment and student services for the University of Mary Washington, will serve as the moderator for the Fredericksburg Forum on Tuesday, March 23. The program, which will feature broadcast journalist Judy Woodruff will be held at 8 p.m. in George Washington Hall, Dodd Auditorium. Tickets are required.
Dr. Wilder, who came to UMW in 1979, oversees all aspects of the student recruitment and admission process for both campuses of the university. He is a frequent speaker and presenter at professional conferences and has been recognized for his leadership and expertise in the area of ethical practice in the college admission profession.
In addition, Dr. Wilder has been a member of Spotsylvania County School Board since 1994, twice serving as chairperson. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history, a master’s degree in counseling and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies, all from the University of Virginia.
Judy Woodruff has covered politics and other news for more than three decades at the major television networks CNN, NBC and PBS. She is senior correspondent for PBS’ “News Hour with Jim Lehrer” and was editor of the show’s 2008 election coverage.
