Grammy award-winning violinist Joshua Bell will perform with the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday, March 26. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 2.

Part of UMW Philharmonic Celebrity Series, the concert will include Bell’s performance of the Bruch Violin Concerto in addition to Polovtsian Dances by Borodin. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in George Washington Hall’s Dodd Auditorium on the Fredericksburg campus.
One of the most celebrated violinists of his era, Bell’s restless curiosity, passion and multi-faceted musical interests are almost unparalleled in the world of classical music, according to UMW Philharmonic Director Kevin Bartram. Bell has been embraced by a wide television audience with appearances ranging from The Tonight Show to Sesame Street. He has twice performed on the Grammy Awards telecast, is one of the first classical artists to have a music video on VH1 and was the subject of a BBC Omnibus documentary. Bell has appeared in publications including The New York Times, People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, Vogue and Reader’s Digest.
