The University of Mary Washington Philharmonic Orchestra will present a concert featuring legendary tenor José Carreras on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the William M. Anderson Center. Tickets are still available for the performance.

The concert at UMW will be his first and only U.S. performance in nearly a decade. Carreras is best-known for his record-breaking appearances with Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo in the Three Tenors.
“I am thrilled to come to Fredericksburg for the first time and perform in this unmatched atmosphere,” said Carreras. “The program will contain great music from opera, operetta, musical and song in an evening to remember.”
Founded in 1971, the Philharmonic Orchestra includes more than 80 members from the community and the UMW student body.

YES. Can’t wait to see Carreras perform in my home town! Fredericksburg needs more opera!
I live in Hagerstown, MD and am hoping to get to this event. I spoke to the lady in the
ticket office and she was extremely helpful. We are 3 seniors, the oldest being 88; and, parking facilities
are a problem. We have no handicapped parking cards. In addition to the 2 1/2 drive each way, parking
poses the biggest problem. I was told that we should arrive in Fredricksburg no later than 5 PM. in order
to get parking and should be at the Arena by 6:30. Do you have any other suggestions for out of town
seniors? We will return to Hagerstown after the performance (if we do get tickets).

Please reply to this e mail..I will expand my concerns.
I am not sure my prior e mail was received.
Ms. Burkhardt – Thank you for your question. I would like to suggest that you reach out to the UMW Philharmonic regarding your concerns. They can be reached at philharmonic@umw.edu or (540) 654-1324.
