The University of Mary Washington has been recognized among the nation’s best in Money magazine’s 2018 list of top colleges.
UMW is ranked seventh among Virginia public schools and 306 overall among the 727 four-year colleges and universities named to the list out of more than 2,400 four-year schools in the country.

Money magazine looks at educational quality, affordability and alumni success to determine the rankings for its list. It also considers comparative value by looking at student success against the expected success of students with similar economic and academic backgrounds, and the offering of majors. The publication relies on statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, PayScale and Peterson’s.
