The Board of Visitors met the evening of April 16, 2009 for dinner at Brompton at 6:30 pm. Various discussions took place simultaneously around the table. These discussions were in a social context.
Following dinner, two guests were formally introduced to the group in the context of their work as consultants. The two included James M. Burke, PhD, Director of Performance Management Group at VCU and Linda L. Pierce, MBA, Consultant, also with the Performance Management Group. After their introductions, a discussion ensued regarding how the Board members might work more effectively and efficiently as a Board and also with the President to facilitate the mission and goals of the University including those expressed by the forthcoming strategic plan.
The meeting then adjourned at approximately 10:20 pm.
