All residential students that register to remain on-campus for Thanksgiving Break will be able to remain in their residence hall during the break period. Residents should be aware that on-campus dining services will not be available and student services will be unavailable during the Thanksgiving Break period.
Preparing Your Room for Break
All residents who are not remaining on campus during the break must depart their Residence Hall by 10AM on November 24th. Before leaving for break, students should ensure that their windows are closed and locked, their window shades/blinds are closed, heat in their rooms is on, and their doors are locked. Electronic devices (excluding mini-fridges) should be unplugged and moved off the floor.
Residence halls will close for Winter Break on December 11th at 10 AM – January 9th at 9 AM. Any student needing to request to remain on campus during this period must petition and be approved by Residence Life and Housing.

A Student Affairs committee will begin reviewing Winter Break petitions on November 22. Approval must be received in order to stay in the residence halls after December 11; approval is not guaranteed. Residents that are approved are strongly encouraged to remain on campus for the duration of the break, rather than coming and going from campus.
Residents should be aware that on-campus student services, including campus dining, will be unavailable during the break period.

The form can be found in the Housing Portal by selecting the Petition to Cancel Housing agreement from the drop-down menu.
Students who are checking out must notify their RA and schedule a time to meet with them to go through the Room Condition Report and follow check-out procedures. Residents should return their room key to the Eagle Landing Front Desk after meeting with their RA. Any resident that does not return their key will be charged a lock change charge ($125).
