Timely Warning – April 19, 2026
In accordance with the federal Clery Act, this notice is being sent as a timely warning from The University of Mary Washington Police Department:
At around 1158 tonight there was a reported incident in the area of McDonald’s at 1212 Emancipation Hwy in which a stabbing has occurred. The weapon involved is in Fredericksburg Police Department custody and they are currently searching for a subject involved in the incident. He is described as a Hispanic Male, curly hair, 6 foot, 160 lbs, wearing a McDonald’s shirt and black pants.
UMW Police are currently searching the campus area as well. His direction of travel was on foot towards the Eagle Village shopping center.
If you have any information on this investigation, please call UMW Police at 540-654-1025 or 540-654-4444 in an emergency.
No additional action is needed and campus is NOT under lockdown. This timely warning is issued to seek information on a suspect.
