Workforce Recruitment Program
About
The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), managed by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), is a talent database available to employers across the federal government. This free program helps students and recent graduates with disabilities explore careers within the federal government.
School Coordinators
Two School Coordinators, from the Center for Career and Professional Development and the Office of Disability Resources, promote the WRP and related programming to the UMW community. The WRP School Coordinators are:
- Jenn Uber, Associate Director of Disability Resources
- Mary Becelia, Assistant Director of Career Education
The University publicizes WRP program offerings through platforms such as email, flyers, posters, tabling, campus newsletters, and other outlets. UMW career coaching staff is also available to assist students with resume development and interview preparation.
Eligibility & Applications
UMW students with disabilities, and alumni with disabilities who have graduated in the last 2.5 years, are eligible to apply each fall if they wish to utilize the WRP to explore federal government internships or jobs. Applications are accepted annually from late August through mid-October. Individuals must reapply every year.
For the 2026-27 academic year, student registration for the WRP will begin on August 24, 2026. Please visit the student section of the WRP site for current information on applying to the program.
