The Career & Internship Fair attracts local and regional employers who are searching to fill full-time and internship positions.

The Center for Career & Professional Development welcomes alumni and students from the University of Mary Washington, as well as students from regional community colleges.

The Fall 2026 Career and Internship Fair will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Employers can register today on Handshake.

Student registration opens September 1, 2026.

Join us this fall for the first Graduate School Fair and meet admissions representatives from graduate schools to learn about their programs and how to apply. Students can learn more about the attending universities and register on Handshake.

The UMW Career Center is hosting the first Life After Mary Wash Fall Internship Fellows Symposium. Career Treks allow students to step outside the classroom and explore career possibilities by visiting local and regional employers, learning about different industries, meeting professionals and seeing firsthand how their academic interests can translate into the workplace. 

Fall Career Trek:

“Careers That Build a Region.” This trek focuses on careers in workforce and economic development and will include visits to Goodwill and VIC (Virginia Innovation Crossroads). Students will learn how organizations work together to strengthen communities, support workforce development, attract and grow businesses and contribute to regional economic growth. This Trek is especially relevant for students studying Business, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Communication & Digital Studies, Geography/GIS, Psychology, and Data Science, as well as students interested in careers that combine business, community development, data, public service and regional planning.

The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) provides students and recent graduates with disabilities career development and helps connect them with potential internships and jobs in the Federal Government.
