Life After Mary Wash Internship Fellows Program

The Life After Mary Wash Internship Fellows Program is a selective, cohort-based experience for students, designed to help them secure meaningful internships and other work-based learning opportunities and reflect on what they’re learning along the way. Fellows receive structured support throughout the internship search process, funding to promote access, and opportunities to connect their academic experiences to future career goals.

Fellows participate in structured workshops and professional development programming throughout the academic year, gain hands-on experience through summer internships and work-based learning, and develop skills aligned with the Life After Mary Washington core competencies. A centerpiece of the program is the Alumni Mentoring Initiative, which pairs each Fellow with a UMW alum for five structured conversations.

This program is supported by the Student Support and Access Grant, and the Internship and Work-Based Learning Capacity-Building Grant, both administered by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
