Life After Mary Washington Internship Fellows Program
The Life After MW Internship Fellows Program is a selective, cohort-based experience for students, designed to help them secure meaningful internships and reflect on what they’re learning along the way. Fellows receive structured support throughout the internship search process, funding to promote access, and opportunities to connect their academic experiences to future career goals.
Who It’s For
The program is open to students from all majors who are seeking an internship and want structured support, accountability, and reflection as part of the process. First-years, sophomore, juniors, and seniors who are returning to campus in fall 2026 are eligible to apply.
What Fellows Receive
- A $1,500 internship stipend
- Monthly workshops during the spring 2026 semester focused on internship search strategies, professional development, and reflection, as well as other meetings and check-ins
- Individual and group support from career professionals
- Mentorship and guidance from faculty and industry partners
- Opportunities to articulate skills gained through internships and coursework
- Participation in a fall Internship Fellows Symposium
Program Timeline
- Spring 2026: Internship search support and preparation
- Summer 2026: Internship experience with ongoing check-ins
- Fall 2026: Reflection, skill articulation, and professional storytelling
Expectations
Fellows are expected to:
- Attend required workshops and cohort meetings
- Actively pursue and complete an internship
- Engage in reflection and assessment activities
- Communicate regularly with program staff
How to Apply
Students must complete a short online application sharing their goals, interests, and interest in the program. Selection is competitive and based on interest, readiness, and alignment with program goals.
