What is the Women’s Leadership Colloquium?

The Annual Women’s Leadership Colloquium at UMW brings together professionals who support women from all walks of life to learn and grow together. The 2026 theme is “Navigating Life and Leadership.”

When and where is the Colloquium?

The Colloquium is held on November 5, 2026 from 8 am to 4 pm. It is held in the Cedric Rucker University Center (CRUC) on the UMW Fredericksburg Campus.

Who should attend?

UMW welcomes all to attend and participate. The event is designed for anyone who supports women across many dimensions of leadership—including executives, entrepreneurs, educators, caregivers, volunteers, mentors, artists, coaches, and community advocates.

I don’t think of myself as a ‘leader.’ Should I still attend?

Yes! The 2026 Colloquium emphasizes leadership as a way of being, not simply a position, making the event relevant to women leading in professional, personal, and community settings.

What should I expect from the event?

The theme is Navigating Life and Leadership. The day focuses on confidence, authenticity, self-awareness, resilience, emotional intelligence, courage, advocacy, practical leadership strategies, and wellbeing.
You’ll walk away having had opportunities to explore how to lead with greater confidence and authenticity, navigate challenges with resilience and emotional intelligence, advocate for themselves and others, and apply practical strategies that support both leadership and wellbeing.
