I grew up in Nepal and moved to the United States to attend the University of Mary Washington, where I became the first woman in my family to earn a college degree. Determined to make the most of every opportunity, I built a network of mentors, professors, and community supporters, including the Fredericksburg–Kathmandu Sister City community, who helped fuel my success. That experience shaped who I am today: someone who thrives on building connections, seeking out support, and turning challenges into forward momentum.
I’m passionate about expanding opportunities for women and girls, particularly through digital literacy and technology access, and I see this as a driving force in both my personal and professional life. I’m energized by the idea that the right mentorship and community can unlock real potential, something I’ve experienced firsthand, and I actively look for ways to extend that same kind of support to others, both locally and globally. That energy carries into conversations around education, global community-building, and expanding access to opportunity.
Professionally, I work as a Software Engineer at Synctivate, a custom software and business process automation company, where I build client-facing web applications and system integrations for clients across a range of industries. My approach is practical and solutions-oriented, focused on translating complex problems into clear, effective outcomes, a strength that also shapes how I contribute as a board member.
