Bio
Michelle has built a career centered on empowering others and strengthening community leadership. Retired from her role as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg, Michelle championed the vision of enabling all youth to reach their full potential. A Maine native, Michelle brings deep nonprofit management experiences from her tenure as the Executive Director of the Southern Maine Community College Foundation and as an educational administrator at the American Psychological Association. As Chair of the Portland Maine School Board, she oversaw Maine’s largest and most diverse school system.
A committed community volunteer, Michelle has contributed leadership, mentorship, and strategic support to more than 30 boards and committees. She is a Past President of the Junior League of Portland Maine and serves as a Sustainer Mentor for the Junior of League of Northern Virginia, where she inspires women to pursue leadership roles and fosters positive and enduring change within the community. She is an active supporter of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce where she serves as a Chamber Influencer.
Michelle earned her B.A. in Public Management from the University of Maine and a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University. She is a Leadership Fredericksburg graduate and has served for several years as a program mentor.
